Historical disputes, absence of common identity and economic backwardness of Turkish Cypriots need to be overcomed. The future development will depend on the willingness of both parties to achieve a settlement based on compromise. International community should demonstrate that it will be able to garantee timely and precise implementation of relevant future agreement.
